Knowledge Lead, Research and Policy Evaluation

Verónica is currently the Chief of the Skills, Active Labour Market Policies and Policy Evaluation Team at the International Labour Organization (ILO). She has recently returned to the ILO following a Visiting Scholar position with CEGA (Center for Effective Global Action) at UC Berkeley.

Ms. Escudero's current research focuses on assessing the effectiveness of labour market policies on job quality and social conditions and unveiling whether leveraging complementarities between policies can foster their beneficial effect. More recently, she has been exploring topics related to the skills necessary to foster effective transitions to decent work with a focus on low- and middle-income countries, through the use of online data on vacancies and applications to labor portals.

She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Paris School of Economics and the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS).
