
Veronica Escudero
Knowledge Lead, Research and Policy Evaluation
Verónica is currently serving as Visiting Scholar with CEGA (Center for Effective Global Action) at UC Berkeley. She is on temporary leave from her position as the Chief of the Labour Market Trends and Policy Evaluation Unit at the International Labour Organization.
Ms. Escudero's current research focuses on assessing the effectiveness of labour market policies on job quality and social conditions and unveiling whether leveraging complementarities between policies can foster their beneficial effect. More recently, she has been exploring topics related to the skills necessary to foster effective transitions to decent work with a focus on low- and middle-income countries, through the use of online data on vacancies and applications to labor portals.
She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Paris School of Economics and the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS).
